Uniqlo and FairPrice top YouGov Retail Rankings 2021 in Singapore

YouGov’s new rankings reveal the healthiest retail brands among Singaporeans

YouGov Retail Rankings 2021 reveal the top ten brands with the best brand health under Fashion Retailers and General Retail categories, according to Singaporeans.

The brands in YouGov Retail Rankings were ranked based on their Index score, which is a measure of overall brand health calculated by taking the average of Impression, Quality, Value, Satisfaction, Recommend and Reputation over a period of 12 months.​

Fashion Retailers

Uniqlo is the top-performing brand under Fashion Retailers in YouGov’s Retail Rankings 2021 in Singapore.

The top ten ranking features many European retail giants such as Marks & Spencer (21.2), H&M (14.8), and Zara (14.3). American brands also appear prominently in the list. Adidas (28.8), Nike (27.6), and Levi’s (19.0) round up the top five in the Fashion Retailers category.

Apart from Uniqlo, other notable Asian brands to feature in the top ten list are G2000 (14.9), Tangs (12.7) and Isetan (12.6).

General Retail

In the General Retail category, FairPrice tops the rankings, followed by local supermarket chain Sheng Siong (35.6) and Swedish furniture retailer IKEA (34.4).

Another supermarket chain to feature in the list is Cold Storage (28.9), along with the Japanese chain store Don Don Donki (27.2).

Asia’s leading health & beauty retailer Watsons places in sixth (25.3), followed by Guardian in eighth (21.8).

Hypermarket and retailer chain Giant Singapore (23.9), homegrown consumer electronics chain Challenger (13.9) and Australian retailer Harvey Normal (12.7) are other brands to feature in the top ten list under the General Retail category.

Methodology:

The brands in YouGov Retail Rankings were ranked based on their Index score, which is a measure of overall brand health calculated by taking the average of Impression, Quality, Value, Satisfaction, Recommend and Reputation over a period of 12 months.​

The rankings chart shows the brands with the highest average index score between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021. The scores are representative of the general population of adults 18+ (some are online representative). ​

All scores listed have been rounded to a single decimal place; however, we have used additional precision to assign ranks. All brands have been tracked for at least 6 months to be included in the rankings.
